The Isurus xiphodon is the widest form of the Mako shark which is believed to be the extinct ancestor or the Great White shark, Carcharodon carcharias. The Yorktown Formation of the Lee Creek site produces extraordinarily preserved I. xiphodon teeth with large size and fantastic color. Note - all teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise noted.
