Carcharocles megalodon
This catalog contains exceptional
teeth from the extinct Giant White shark - C. megalodon. These teeth are
exceptionally colored and noted for their heavy, triangular crown which is fully
serrated and extra heavy roots. Late Miocene-Pliocene age (4-6 million years
ago).
Note - 1) All teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise
noted. Display frames and easels are available (see our Display
Material catalog). Click on photos to enlarge.
2) These Megalodon teeth are the real deal. Absolutely
no repair or
restoration
in this group which is incredible considering the extra hard matrix they
are found in. These Megs are
definitely among my personal favorites - a must have
item for the serious Meg collector.
3) Update
2/13/2008-
The supply of newly dug Chilean fossils has stopped. I was able to acquire
a few "old inventory" Megs from the suppliers and prices are increasing.
The value of these teeth are on the rise. The "good old days" of the Chilean
fossils are gone.
Catalog updated February 10, 2008. It is now very rare
to see Chilean Meg teeth in any condition. **Note - There are now
essentially no top quality Chilean Megs available in any size (none!),
and their value is increasing significantly. The few "old inventory" Megs available were
typically repaired and
restored - buyer beware! This appears to be the last of the big Chilean Megs
available from my suppliers! Display frames and easels are available - see Display Material catalog.
