Carcharodon carcharias Transition Teeth

This catalog contains excellent teeth from an unusual and rare form of the Great White shark, Carcharodon carcharias - Transitional Teeth. These teeth are noted for their triangular crowns which exhibit little to very fine serrations. These are thought to be transitional teeth along the evolutionary path between Isurus hastalis (the Big-toothed Mako and precursor to C. carcharias ) and the Great White shark, C. carcharias. These teeth are rarely found!

Isurus oxyrinchus  (Short-fin Mako)

This catalog contains beautiful teeth from the Short-fin Mako shark - Isurus oxyrinchus. These teeth exhibit great color. These teeth are from the Pliocene (approx. 4 million years old) found near Sacaco, Peru.

Isurus retroflexus  (Long-fin Mako)

This catalog contains beautiful teeth from the Long-fin Mako shark - Isurus retroflexus. These teeth exhibit all or most of the characteristics of a classic I. retroflexus with compressed, broader crown that is straight, lingual root face is protuberance, the labial root has a platform & a large groove, and the labial crown face has wrinkles at the base. These teeth are from the Pliocene (approx. 4 million years old) found near Sacaco, Peru.
