Moroccan Marine Reptiles Catalog
This catalog contains exceptional Moroccan teeth from a variety of species. The age of these teeth is mid to late Cretaceous (68-110 million years ago - Maestrichtian - Albian). The large size and top quality condition of these fish, shark, and Mosasaur teeth make them uncommon, very collectable, and a great addition to your shark teeth collection. Most of these teeth come from the Khouribga phosphate plateau region of Morocco. All teeth are museum quality. Note - all teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise noted. Click on photos to enlarge. Catalog updated on August 5, 2007. Crocodilus cf. spenceri (Extinct Crocodile) These are huge examples of extinct Crocodilus teeth, a huge Eocene marine reptile. Sharks had to fear these creatures! Teeth of this size and quality are rare for this species! Found in the phosphate mine region, Khouribga, Morocco. Note - the genus for this species appears to be renamed to Kentisuchus. Globidens aegypticus (Extinct Mosasaur) These are large examples of a rare, extinct Globidens teeth, a huge Eocene Mosasaur. This species is rare! Globidens was a specialized shell crusher and quite good at it. Found in the phosphate mine region, Khouribga, Morocco. This is an incredible selection of a very uncommon Mosasaur that recently appeared in the phosphate mines.
Mosasaurus anceps (Extinct Mosasaur) These are huge examples of extinct Mosasaurus anceps, a large Cretaceous, marine reptile. Sharks had to fear these creatures! Found in the phosphate mine region, Khouribga, Morocco.
Mosasaurus beaugei (Extinct Mosasaur) These are huge examples of extinct Mosasaurus beaugei, a large Cretaceous, marine reptile. Note - this tooth exhibits a "ribbed design" along the length of the crown. This is the more difficult to find of the two Mosasaur species. Sharks had to fear these creatures! Platecarpus ptychodon (Extinct Marine Reptile) These are examples of extinct Platecarpus teeth, a large upper Cretaceous marine reptile. Sharks had to fear these creatures! This species is scarce! Plesiosaurus mauritanicus (Extinct Plesiosaur) These are examples of extinct Plesiosaurus teeth, a large Cretaceous marine reptile. Sharks had to fear these creatures! This species is rare! Found in the phosphate mine region, Khouribga, Morocco.
Trematochamsid sp. (Extinct Crocodile) These are excellent examples of a very early, extinct Crocodile jaw section with multiple teeth. A lower Cretaceous marine reptile (110 million years ago). This species is rare! The age of these teeth are Mid Cretaceous epoch, Albian stage (96 million years ago). All of these teeth were found south of Taouz, K'Sar-es-Souk province, Kem-Kem basin region of Morocco.
