Moroccan Eocene Mackerel Shark Teeth
This catalog contains exceptional teeth from a variety of highly collectable Moroccan shark teeth. The age of these shark teeth range are Eocene (55 million years ago). The large size and top quality condition of these shark teeth make them uncommon, very collectable, and a great addition to your shark teeth collection. All of these teeth come from the Khouribga phosphate region of Morocco. All teeth are collector's quality. Note - all teeth sizes are slant height unless otherwise noted. Click on photos to enlarge. Catalog updated on March 17, 2008. Cretolamna appendiculata A classic Mackerel shark from the Eocene (approx. 55 million years ago). These teeth exhibit a very distinct "saddle shaped" root with heavy side side cusps. The teeth in this catalog are excellent examples and complete. Note - "Where it all started" - this species is thought to be the early ancestor of the Megalodon and is highly collectable. Have a look at the new teeth. Serratolamna ascheroni Probably the most ornate of the Mackerel sharks with exquisite side cusp development.
