| Kazakhstan - Cretaceous Shark Teeth #1
These teeth come from Tykbutak, Aktiubinsk region, W. Kazakhstan and are Cretaceous (Lower Santonian) in age (approx. 85 mya). Acrodus levis An unusual tooth from a rare and very unique Cretaceous shark, Acrodus levis - a Acrorodont shark. This is a large dome shaped tooth used for grinding, and is complete showing exceptional preservation. Specimens of this quality are rare. Archeolamna koepingensis Excellent teeth from a fairly uncommon Cretaceous shark, Archeolamna koepingensis. These teeth have extra heavy roots that protrudes on the lingual view, and the side cusps are well pronounced. Note - The teeth are also similar in appearance to the Protolamna sokolovi described by Cappetta. The Russian collectors originally identified this tooth as the Protolamna arcuata. Eostriatolamia venusta Very nice teeth from a scarce Cretaceous shark, Eostriatolamis venusta - a Sand Tiger shark. These are complete showing exceptional preservation. Some very large examples and several jaw positions are included. Specimens of this quality are very difficult to locate. Cretaceous (Lower Santonian - approx. 75 million years ago), Tykbutak, Aktiubinsk region, W. Kazakhstan. Note -Teeth are sold in pairs with one anterior tooth and one lateral tooth. Hybodus sp. Very nice teeth from a rare and very unique Cretaceous shark, Hybodus sp. - a Hybodontid shark. These are complete showing exceptional preservation.
